This unique Pop-Up Concert celebrates the 100th birthday of György Ligeti, featuring his Horn Trio, a piece written in honor of Johannes Brahms' 150th birthday. Alongside Ligeti's monumental work, the Takt Trio will perform two brand new horn trios by contemporary composers Marcos Balter and Hilda Paredes, commissioned especially for this occasion. These compositions promise to add a modern twist to the chamber music tradition, with the New York premieres of Paredes' "Koan" (2023) and Balter's new work for Takt Trio (2024).
