Tracy Millar’s voice is like a time machine to the heart of country music. For over two decades, she’s been the custodian of pure country sound, gracing airwaves, theatres, festivals, and halls across Alberta.
Her unmistakable voice is a pure country instrument rooted deep in her adoration for traditional country, Tracy’s music is a testament to the soul of the genre. But now, she is stepping into a new spotlight with a project that’s as personal as it gets.
A contemporary roots duo featuring sibling songwriters Leela and Jay Gilday. Sechile Sedare (pronounced ‘seh-chee-leh’ ‘seh-dahr-eh’) means ‘my younger brother, my older sister’ in the Dene language. This musical collaboration sees Jay and Leela co-write and co-create new repertoire together, harnessing their talents as deeply insightful and genuine storytellers. Their voices blend in perfect harmony, hitting notes of nostalgia, hope, humour and reflection. The songs share stories about their family history, their connection to the land and water, and the twists and turns of fate.
