Two short operas - Polar and The Watering Hole from the Climate Opera Project will be presented at UConn Opera at University of Connecticut on March 30th at 5pm, this presentation will also be interpreted by puppets.

3. Poetry & Music Project at Opera Omaha
Opera Omaha’s upcoming Poetry & Music Project features work by C&V alumni Sidney Marquez Boquiren. Now in its 8th year, the Poetry & Music Project connects student poets and their words with composers to create original music and explore the connections between poetry and music. For the 24/25 Project, Opera Omaha received 66 poem submission from students across Nebraska inspired by the theme “My Neighborhood.” Poets ranged from second graders to high school juniors, including first time poets and seasoned writers

4. The Woodlawn Operas - AOP-NYU/Tisch Opera Lab 2025
Three 30-minute operas inspired by the lives and histories of residents at Woodlawn Cemetery. These operas will be performed at the African Grove Theatre in New York University’s Paulson Center on Friday, May 16, and Saturday, May 17. Additionally, a concert version will be presented at Woodlawn Cemetery to honor the spirits depicted in these operas. Stay tuned for tickets info!

5. C&V Six Scenes Concerts

6. Fort Greene Park Walt Whitman Walking Tour - June 2025
For over 20 years, the American Opera Project has partnered with the Fort Greene Park Conservancy and NYC Parks Department creating site-specific original music and poetry illuminating the life of Walt Whitman. These tours are free and open to the public who may be drawn by the allure of the historic Fort Greene Park but leave having experienced contemporary performance art and poetry. The Fort Greene Park walking tour is led by Walt Whitman scholar and historian Karen Karebiener and contralto Nicole Mitchell.
