Jean Sibelius’ first symphony is one of the most romantic pieces ever written and is one of Maestro Murray’s personal favorites. You will love this idyllic, musical gem that explores the entire palette of sounds that a symphony orchestra can create! Soloist Jesse Barrett, a true virtuoso on the oboe, will charm audiences with his melodic interpretation of Mozart’s Concerto for Oboe.

2. Family Concert: Lemony Snicket: The Composer is Dead
Narrator Omari Tau will join us again for this exciting family-centered concert! This year we’ve chosen Nathanial Stookey’s The Composer is Dead, with text by Lemony Snicket. This performance presents an engaging way for a young audience to learn about the different instrument sections of the orchestra. Jenna Son, Grand Prize Winner of the 2024 Young Artists Competition will perform Sibelius’ Violin Concerto, Op. 47.

3. Masterworks III: Drama at the Symphony
We are heading back to the opera, with Pagliacci, Leoncavallo’s one-act masterpiece. This indelible story of love, drama and heartbreak features some of the most beautiful music in all of opera – and at just about one hour long it’s the perfect opportunity to experience an opera! With five soloists, a choir, and our orchestra – plus projected supertitles – this will be a concert you don’t want to miss!
