Hawaiian music legend and National Heritage Fellow Led Kaapana is unrivaled in his exceptional picking style on slack key guitar and ‘ukulele, along with his baritone to falsetto vocal range. Down home and real, he’s a delightful performer with rascal charm. Led is joined by “The Hawaiian Boy” Mike Kaawa, Hawaii’s finest 12-string guitar player and one of its most highly regarded musician, and Mike's hula dancer sister Aurora Kaawa, who has won accolades in her own right, including being crowned Miss Hawai‘i.

Michael Anderson continues his mission of setting all of Beethoven’s symphonies for chamber ensemble with microphilharmonic’s premier of his chamber arrangements of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 21 (1802) and his Symphony No. 7 in A major , Op. 92 (1812).

HAR-DEE-HAR-HAR! Our intrepid Moombahteers venture into the world of tale tales and other silly stuff and along the way cross paths with Paul Bunyan, Davy Crockett, Johnny Appleseed, Rip Van Winkle, and even Bre'r Rabbit. Old favorite songs include: "Erie Canal", "Yankee Doodle", "God Bless America", "Clementine", and ""Puff The Magic Dragon".

6. Louis: a silent film accompanied by Wynton Marsalis & Cecile Licad
Trumpeter, composer, and 2011 NEA Jazz Master Wynton Marsalis performs his live score to accompany a screening of director Dan Pritzker's 2010 silent Louis Armstrong biographical film Louis, joined by classical pianist Cecile Licad and an all-star 10-piece jazz ensemble in The Shedd Institute's intimate, vibrant Jaqua Concert Hall.

7. A Connecticut Yankee
A Connecticut Yankee is Rodgers & Hart at their best. It is just as insanely incongruous as Twain's original with wonderful Rodgers melodies and spot-on Hart wit to boot. Based on John O'Hara's 1940 epistolary novel of the same name (who also wrote the show's libretto), Richard Rodgers & Lorenz Hart's Pal Joey tells the story of a small time nightclub emcee...a slice of low-life Chicago in the 1940s set to some of the best songs of the decade, headed up by "Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered" and "I Could Write A Book" and including such intriguing specialty numbers as "Zip".
