1. Attitude
Known for its groundbreaking choreography, original music, and cross-disciplinary collaborations, Nashville Ballet’s Attitude program returns to TPAC February 9–11, 2024. Featuring three world premiere works by fan-favorite and flourishing choreographers, this compelling sampling of contemporary movement will include pieces by Resident Choreographer Mollie Sansone, Jermaine Spivey, and Yusha-Marie Sorzano set to music performed live by local Nashville musicians.

Formed in 1978, Conjunto Primavera has established itself as one of the best groups to come out of Mexico. With every song and tune they exemplify the culture and essence of Mexico. They demonstrate why they have become one of the best groups in the regional Mexican genre, more specifically the Norteño sax. Their music has become a staple of the Norteño and Regional Mexican music scenes, earning them a loyal fan base in Latin America and the United States.

H.M.S. Pinafore was the show that began it all for G&S. Sullivan’s beautiful music paired with the clever wordplay of Gilbert produced many classics of the music theatre stage, but none more audience pleasing than this early collaboration. Nowadays, the very mention of the names Gilbert and Sullivan evoke the memory of such shows as The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, and Iolanthe. But it all started here!

10. The Mountaintop
This new play by Tennessee playwright Katori Hall is a gripping re-imagination of what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s last night on earth could have been. On April 3, 1968, Dr. King returns to his room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis after delivering his historic “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” speech to local sanitation workers. While waiting for room service, he is visited by a mysterious maid with whom he begins a humorous and flirtatious conversation that progresses into a soul-searching discussion about their mutual hopes and fears. As a lightning storm rages outside, the legacy of America’s most revered civil rights leader is laid bare to reveal his profound humanity.
