1. BoyWithUke
What do we know about BoyWithUke? If you quickly scan TikTok, you can figure out he is a musical artist who writes and produces all of his own music, creating songs in his dorm room on GarageBand while hiding his face from the public with his now signature glowing mask. Take a deeper look, and you’ll see he frequently posts “minute long songs,” many times written in response to requests from fans. His biggest hit to date was written after a fan commented “make a song about toxic friends plzzzx,” and the response was the song “Toxic.” The song describes how it feels when you realize all your friends are terrible people (people you’d probably be better off without), but the thought of being alone makes you feel even worse. The song exploded online, as it vaulted to #1 at Alternative Radio and reached over 1.5 billion global streams to date. Not to mention, his performance of “Toxic” has emerged as the platform’s highest-viewed Genius video to date with over 100 million views and counting. Last year, he embarked on his sold out international headline tour and released his debut album Serotonin Dreams that features collaborations with blackbear, mxmtoon, Powfu, and more. The project is the follow up to previous full length projects Melatonin Dreams, Fever Dreams, Trouvaille EP, and Faded EP (featuring numerous songs created from his TikTok “minute long songs” project). BoyWithUke kicked off 2023 with his latest single “Rockstar” taken from his recent release—Antisocial EP.

3. Badbadnotgood
This spring, BADBADNOTGOOD will be bringing their genre defying album, Mid Spiral suite: Chaos, Order and Growth, on the road, featuring a special performance with Baby Rose, of their joint EP, Slow Burn. The trio called on some of their closest friends and collaborators, BADBADNOTGOOD touring member Felix Fox-Pappas (keys) and a few key-players in the Toronto jazz scene including Kaelin Murphy (trumpet), Juan Carlos Medrano Magallenes (percussion) and LA musician Tyler Lott (guitar), for an intensive and productive one-week of recording at Valentine Studios in Los Angeles in February 2024. The result is the Mid Spiral suite: Chaos, Order and Growth, which will be performed along with live reinterpretations of their previous releases.

5. Amyl and The Sniffers
Amyl and The Sniffers have already had a monster year, destroying the main stages of European summer festivals, supporting Foo Fighters on their recent US stadium run, and selling out their own headline tours in the US, UK and Europe, including three consecutive nights at the 3,000-capacity Roundhouse in London. 6. MJ Lenderman & The Wind
Jake Lenderman lives in Asheville, North Carolina. He plays guitar in the indie band Wednesday, sometimes fishes on the Pigeon River, and creates his own music as MJ Lenderman. His latest solo release with Dear Life Records is titled Boat Songs. Lenderman describes the album as his most “polished” sound to date, built around songs that “chase fulfillment and happiness”—whether that means buying a boat, drinking too much, or watching seeds fall from the bird feeder.

7. Smino
Critically acclaimed artist Smino is one of the game’s most dynamic musical disruptors. Raised in a family of musicians, the rapper, writer, and producer began playing drums in his native St. Louis at an early age. As an adult, he moved to Chicago to release his first two EPs, S!ck S!ck S!ck and blkjuptr. In 2017, Smino dropped his debut album blkswn — hailed by Rolling Stone as one of the ‘40 Best Rap Albums of the Year. Following blkswn was the 2018 release of NØIR which landed on year-end lists from Complex, The Atlantic, REVOLT, and more. He has generated over half-a-billion streams and counting in addition to selling out US headline tours in 2017 and 2019. In 2021, Smino released his latest creation, Luv 4 Rent, which boasts singles “90 Proof” [with J. Cole], “Pro Freak [with Doechii & Fatman Scoop], and “Matinee” [with Kal Banx]. Freshly independent, Smino’s newest nine-track offering ”Maybe In Nirvana” is an immersive experience, blending Smino’s poetic lyricism with innovative production and standout collaborations. The album reflects a deeply personal journey, exploring themes of love, resilience, and self-discovery.
