The Fresno Philharmonic's 2025-2026 season is a masterful symphony of diverse musical experiences. Join revered conductors and acclaimed soloists as they bring to life the works of Brahms, Beethoven, and more, amidst a backdrop of holiday cheer and cultural reflection.
Join the Fresno Philharmonic for a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, featuring a deeply personal new piece by composer Juan Pablo Contreras. Alma Monarca invites audiences into Contreras’s childhood memories of Día de los Muertos and the awe-inspiring Monarch butterfly migration to the Mexican state of Michoacán. Framing this moving work are the lilting and spirited Estancia: Four Dances by Ginastera and Brahms’s titanic Piano Concerto No. 1, performed with passion by acclaimed Mexican pianist Jorge Federico Osorio.
Join Rei Hotoda and the Fresno Philharmonic for an evening of powerful and innovative musical brilliance. The centerpiece is Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3, a bold and lively masterpiece that was still being shaped at its premiere and has since become one of the most celebrated works in classical music. Pianist Jon Kimura Parker joins the orchestra as soloist. The program also features Ravel’s elegant Le Tombeau de Couperin, written in honor of fallen friends, and Sibelius’s majestic and structure-bending Symphony No. 5.
Fresno’s Holiday musical tradition returns! Join Music Director Rei Hotoda, the Fresno Philharmonic, the Fresno Master Chorale and special guests for a joyous symphonic celebration of the season. Come early to enjoy lobby caroling, hot chocolate and photos by the Christmas tree.
What’s better than hearing Gershwin’s Piano Concerto in F live? Hearing it played by 2025 GRAMMY–winner Michelle Cann right here in Fresno. Join us as we celebrate America at 250 with a lineup of all-American music, with a focus on African American composers including Margaret Bonds’s Montgomery Variations and a world premiere by California composer John Wineglass. The concert concludes with Stravinsky's energetic Symphony in Three Movements.
Perfect for a romantic evening out, this concert highlights musical couples, from the sweeping passion of Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture to the joyous sparkle of Glinka’s Ruslan and Lyudmila Overture. Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes of Weber, a colorful orchestral tour de force written shortly after he immigrated to America, references the story of Turandot and Prince Calaf. Mozart’s deeply expressive Sinfonia Concertante features a real-life couple as soloists, violinist Qing Hou and violist Lawrence Neuman, bringing an extra layer of connection to the performance.
We close the season with a program that explores where we come from and who we are. Damien Geter’s Sinfonia Americana sets the tone with rich, pastoral sounds that evoke the American landscape, while Kevin Puts’s lyrical Flute Concerto displays the soaring skill of flutist Demarre McGill. Our journey ends with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, a powerful portrait of personal triumph and rediscovery.
The Fresno Philharmonic's 2025-2026 season is more than just a series of concerts—it is an exploration of music's capacity to unite and inspire. By blending classical masterpieces with contemporary compositions, the Philharmonic invites audiences on a journey through cultural landscapes and emotional depths. As each note is played and each piece unfolds, concertgoers are prompted to reflect on their own connections to the music and its broader themes. This season promises to be a truly enriching experience for all who attend.
