Known for his mastery of every saxophone and unique instruments, multi-instrumentalist Scott Robinson is among the greatest improvisers of our time. “Scott has been a central part of my inspiration for over 30 years," says Maria Schneider, “his level of mastery and expressivity are in a category all his own.” Robinson performs works composed and arranged by Schneider, Guerra, and select Studio Jazz Writing Program composers.

8. ECLECTICS | Frost Symphony Orchestra
Spanish composer Manuel de Falla's celebrated ballet, The Three-Cornered Hat, remains a favorite since its premiere. Gerard Schwarz has crafted an orchestral suite from it, to be performed by the Frost Symphony Orchestra. In celebration of the Frost School of Music’s centennial, Frost professor Etienne Charles writes a new work for the orchestra. Having recently had one of his compositions premiere at the opening concert of the newly renovated David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, you will not want to miss it! The concert concludes with Gustav Mahler’s "Totenfeier," which later became part of his Second Symphony.

Named one of the greatest string quartets of the last 100 years by BBC Music Magazine, the two-time GRAMMY-nominated Dover Quartet’s successes include grand and first prizes at the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition and the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant. The program features works by Montgomery, Janacek, Dvorak, and Tchaikovsky.
