Unveiling Artistic Journeys: Inside The New School's 2025 Festival Line-Up
The New School College of Performing Arts is set to host an extraordinary line-up of events in 2025, spotlighting the inventive energies of its students and faculty. The BFA Dramatic Arts Festival kicks off with graduating students presenting works enriched by critical inquiry and citizen-artist perspectives. As summer unfolds, the Mannes Summer Piano Festival will fill the air with melodies under the guidance of Pavlina Dokovska. Additionally, the Sandbox Percussion Summer Seminar celebrates a decade of rhythmic exploration with performances featuring Andy Akiho. It's a testament to creativity and collaboration that should not be missed.
This festival highlights the culminating work of the BFA Dramatic Arts students, exploring their training in technique, the depth of their critical inquiry skills, and the contextualization of their work through the lens of citizen-artist.

Sandbox Percussion is thrilled to celebrate their Summer Seminar’s 10th year with a collaborative performance of Andy Akiho’s complete Seven Pillars. In this intensive experience, participants will learn, rehearse, and perform alongside Sandbox Percussion through daily rehearsals, coachings, and workshops. We are excited to invite Andy Akiho to join us for part of the week to coach Seven Pillars and offer masterclasses and discussions on his music and career as a composer. Participants will be divided into multiple chamber groups, each performing a different movement from Seven Pillars. Each group will consist of one member of Sandbox Percussion and 3 participants. These groups rehearse for several hours each day - vigorously studying and learning the music more deeply than ever before. We will present Seven Pillars in its entirety in a public performance on July 22.
