3. Peterborough Jazz Club: Zoe Francis Quintet featuring Jim Mullen
For our ‘Christmas’ concert, we are showcasing the wonderful female vocalist, Zoe Francis, who is making her first visit to the Club. Zoe Francis started singing jazz while living and working in New York, and soon became a regular fixture on the scene, working with many of the finest musicians there, including Harry Allen, Warren Vache and Chris Flory. Zoe has released four albums so far to critical acclaim, all showcasing her beautiful voice as well as her exquisite choice of material. With her love of the Great American Songbook, from the pen of Strayhorn, Mercer, Van Heusen, Allen and others, Zoe’s ability for capturing the bittersweet, poignant nature of these songs brings them to life and elevates her performances to the truly exceptional. Joining Zoe for tonight’s concert will be the iconic Scottish guitarist Jim Mullen, along with a brilliant rhythm section.

5. The Royal Opera: Wolf Witch Giant Fairy
Red Riding Hood is tasked with delivering bread to her Grandmother, deep in the heart of the fairy-tale forest. But en route, Red meets a cunning Wolf who tricks her into taking a different path. Along the way, Red stumbles into a colourful cast of characters, including a scary witch, a talking cat and a rather persuasive Peddler. Join our ragtag band of wild musicians as they guide all the family through this famous tale with new twists, turns, magic and song.

6. The Royal Ballet: The Nutcracker
Join Clara at a delightful Christmas Eve party that becomes a magical adventure once everyone else is tucked up in bed. Marvel at the brilliance of Tchaikovsky’s score, as Clara and her enchanted Nutcracker fight the Mouse King and visit the Sugar Plum Fairy in the glittering Kingdom of Sweets. Peter Wright’s much-loved production for The Royal Ballet, with gorgeous period designs by Julia Trevelyan Oman, keeps true to the spirit of this festive ballet classic, combining the thrill of the fairy tale with spectacular dancing.

8. Peterborough Jazz Club: Chris Ingham’s REBOP Sextet play Miles in the 50’s
For our first concert in 2025 top bandleader, composer and pianist Chris Ingham brings his fabulous sextet ‘Rebop’, fresh from sold-out performances at Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho. This mighty repertory band presents a concert which examines and plays music from Miles Davis’s most fertile decade, the 1950’s. This will include magnificent music from his acclaimed albums : Kind of Blue, Milestones, Workin’, ‘Round About Midnight, Miles Ahead and Porgy and Bess. This iconic music will be played with the classic front line of trumpet, alto and tenor saxophone and features the fine trumpeter Paul Higgs, who has worked with Chris Ingham on many of his projects, along with the young, exciting saxophonists Harry Greene and Tom Smith making their first appearance at the Club. With a first class rhythm section, led by top pianist Chris Ingham, who will also relate the background to the famous recordings, Rebop will capture the music, the spirit and soul – from one seminal decade – of the all-time jazz great, Miles Davis.

Solo again, Britain’s most celebrated clairvoyant medium psychic from Peter Kay’s ‘Phoenix Nights’ returns with his brand new hilarious one-man stand up show. As well as venturing into the audience to offer his unique spirit readings, Clinton Baptiste comes armed with more tales from his extraordinary childhood; exposing himself in ways you could never imagine -the family that shaped him, the narrow minded who doubted him and the lovers that left him. He regales us with stories of his recent work on a cruise ship, his spirit readings round the UK and not to mention the day to day life with his Greenlandic spirit guide, Taruak.
