2. Zoe Lyons: Werewolf
If life is a journey, Zoe’s has had more than its share of potholes and diversions: from diving with sharks to sitting in a shed in Vietnam with a former health secretary (and discovering that MPs aren’t the only parasites she has to worry about). Navigating the road to happiness can be exhausting and baffling; Zoe’s begun to think that even Wim Hof would prefer to be tucked up with a nice hot water bottle every now and then.

5. Eddi Reader
Eddi Reader has effortlessly developed into one of popular music’s most thrilling and affecting performers. What sets Eddi apart is the depth and quality of the emotional performance and ability to not only move the listener, but connect her experience to that of her audience. No two performances are ever the same. Though first brought into the limelight as front woman for Fairground Attraction (whose Number One single, Perfect and parent album, First of a Million Kisses, both topped the British charts), it was Eddi’s subsequent solo albums that signalled her ability to assimilate different musical styles and make them very much her own. Notably, The Songs of Robert Burns (2003) is a timeless interpretation, showcasing the poems of Scotland’s national bard and gained her an MBE for Outstanding Contributions to the Arts.

8. John Power: Cast, The LA's and Me
John Power had the best rock ’n’ roll apprenticeship ever – playing bass as an 18-year-old in The La’s. Forming Cast in 1991, he sang, wrote songs, and played guitar for one of Britpop’s pre-eminent bands, securing two platinum-selling records before returning to the charts in 2024 with the magnificent Love Is The Call.
