Rosanne Cash is a composer and singer-songwriter who has earned 4 Grammy Awards and 14 Grammy nominations, among numerous other accolades for songwriting and sound recordings. She is also an author, whose 2010 memoir Composed garnered widespread praise from critics and landed on The New York Times bestseller list. In addition, she is a music community catalyst who often brings together giants of American roots music for various events and is a valued voice in documenting modern music history. In 2021, Cash was the first female composer to receive the MacDowell Medal, awarded since 1960 to an artist who has made an outstanding contribution to American culture.

Discover the real-life story that inspired French author and playwright Alexandre Dumas fils to write La Dame aux Camélias, the personal experiences that drew Verdi to its story, and the age-old mythical trope of the “lost” woman who is redeemed through sacrifice.

Set amid the splendor of Parisian nightlife, Giuseppe Verdi’s timeless tale of love and sacrifice has become one of the most beloved operas of all time. Violetta lives a life of decadence and grandeur until she finds true love for the first time with Alfredo. They leave high society for a life in the countryside together, but when fate intervenes, Violetta must make an agonizing choice. Verdi’s exquisite melodies and rousing choruses are a perfect accompaniment for this doomed romance.
