Arvo Pärt is one of the most popular composers of our time, and Fratres is his best-known work. Pärt's music is limited to the essentials: "I have discovered that it is enough if just one note is played beautifully..." The deeply religious composer will celebrate his 90th birthday in 2025.

If the string quartet were to be described as the supreme discipline of chamber music, then the piano quintet would be the pinnacle. And when the “veterans” of the New Philharmonic Frankfurt play together, it is very special after the orchestra’s 25th anniversary year. They have known and loved each other for a long time, but it was only five years ago that they founded the four4strings together – because a productive collaboration in chamber music not only requires maturity but also a certain amount of composure. The ensemble motto: “ From baroque to rock, there is good and bad music – we play everything that is good, across genres and borders”. And so the four NPF members are devoting themselves to really good music in the 16th Wilhelmsbad Chamber Concert together with the pianist Gavin Brady: Robert Schumann composed his Opus 44 in 1842 in a rapturous creative frenzy over the course of just five days, thus founding the piano quintet genre in the first place. Dvořák's Opus 81, premiered in Prague in January 1888, fits seamlessly into the large series of romantic piano quintets.

Rossini's operas sent their audiences into a frenzy. The overture to Semiramide was no exception : brisk fanfares at the beginning, a rapid succession of lively melodies in the allegro, a rousing crescendo at the end and a triumphant conclusion.

Enthusiastic audience, great reviews: these are the best conditions for the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt to continue its "Symphonic Rock in Concert" tour in 2025 after the acclaimed start in 2018! The "Mannheimer Morgen" summed up the concert guests' euphoria, which culminated in standing ovations, by simply describing the "concentrated orchestral performance" as a "great achievement". A correct classification, because everything in this production is of the finest quality: experienced orchestral musicians plus a professional rock quartet and versatile top vocal soloists interpret famous rock and pop songs in a wide-screen sound that sounds voluminous and differentiated at the same time.
