8. Sleeping Beauty
Sleeping Beauty is one of the most beautiful and spectacular ballets of the 19th century. This is a story about the world of childhood, about the desire for love and understanding between parents and children. Despite the simple plot, the basis of which is taken from a fairy tale by Charles Perrault, the ballet impresses with the depth of images. Its creator, the legendary ballet master Marius Petipa, gave volume and meaning to each character, each scene. Moreover, Tchaikovsky’s ballet music revived classical dance to a new life, to new artistic and emotional peaks. The history of ballet’s life on world stages shows the constant interest of choreographers, performers and audiences in it.
