Telling the story of Frederic, a young man reaching the end of his apprenticeship as a pirate - which was in itself the result of a mistake in his childhood. He is excited to begin his new life of respectability with his charming new love; Mabel and with the blessing of his comedically pompous father-in-law to-be Major General Stanley. When he discovers that his commitment to the Pirates is not really over all hope seems lost. Will Mabel really wait until he is 84 to be able to marry him? Can the cowardly police hope to take on the Pirates without him? Can a happy ending be achieved?
