A free, one-day event for young woodwind players, aged 9 – 17 (from grade 3 upwards). Come and join us for a full day of masterclasses, ensemble playing, and lively group discussions, led by a friendly, specialist team of Chetham’s tutors, students, and very special guests.

The award winning Leonkoro Quartet are currently BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists. Based in Berlin, in 2022 they were bestowed with the highly prestigious Jürgen Ponto Foundation Music Prize, a biennial award recognizing outstanding String Quartets, won first prize at both the International String Quartet Competition, held at London’s Wigmore Hall, and the Concours International de Quatuor à Bordeaux and also received the Merito String Quartet award . In March 2024, the Leonkoro Quartet gained the Young Talent Award of the Concertgebouw Amsterdam .In this concert they perform Ravel’s String Quartet which they have recently recorded .Alfred Brendel described this quartet as “already one of the finest; perfectly unanimous colourful and original”.

This unique concert offers a full immersion into the essence of flamenco, featuring a carefully curated selection of Daniel’s most celebrated works from his discography, including his award-winning production “Art of Believing” and his latest masterpiece, “Andalucia.” Additionally, the concert will provide an exclusive sneak peek into his eagerly awaited third album, offering the audience an exclusive first listen to some of his new music.

Experience the enchanting world of Maestro Ennio Morricone, brought to life by Ensemble Symphony Orchestra and led by conductor Giacomo Loprieno. After multiple critically acclaimed tours in Italy, Discovering Morricone debuts in the UK delving into Morricone’s vast repertoire with special guests such as soprano Anna Delfino, a favorite of the European opera audience, and Circle du Soleil’s violinist Attila Simon.

Illuminate is a project that seeks to highlight and celebrate the creativity of women both as composers and performers. Illuminate concerts feature both commissioned works from early career women composers and historical works, celebrating the rich legacy of music written by women. In this concert, violinist Maja Hovat and pianist Joesph Havlat perform works by Grazyna Bacewicz, Isabella Ellis, Laure Chan, Lili Boulanger, Tonia Ko, Hollie Harding and Illuminate’s Artistic Director Angela Elizabeth Slater.

The enticing voices of the three tenors Vincenzo Tremante, Alessandro Fortunato e Francesco Fortes, accompanied by a string quartet and piano, offer the audience a spectacular journey through the masterpieces of the Italian opera and the Neapolitan songs.
