2. Tristan and Isolde
Nothing is more improbable than the love between Tristan and Isolde: In a fight, Tristan murders her fiancé, then lets her heal his own wounds without being recognized. Tristan soon returns to Isolde and asks for her hand in marriage: not for himself, but in the name of King Marke. But something seems to be smoldering between the two, irreconcilable, on the border between love and hate. When Isolde plans to kill herself and Tristan, Isolde's servant Brangäne exchanges the poison for a love potion - the moment of impending death becomes the birth of a love that transcends everything.

5. Bidla Buh
They look as if they were invited to a state banquet: tailcoat, cufflinks, pocket handkerchief, combed hair. But watch out! A lot of things are different here than they seem, because the three men who come across as so gentlemanly are actually up to no good. Equipped with the finest outfits, they offer musical comedy of a particularly offbeat kind. They blow on garden hoses and beer bottles, parody stars of the German and international music scene and marry Alpine yodeling with Spanish castanets and flamenco sounds.

6. 8th Symphony Concert
Together with his sister Maria Anna, known as Nannerl, who was also a gifted pianist, Mozart played his Concerto for Two Pianos, composed in Salzburg in 1779. It represents an important stage in his development of the piano concerto, the genre in which he was particularly successful during his years in Vienna, from 1781 onwards. The high point and conclusion of this phase is the Piano Concerto in C minor, composed in 1786. Of all Mozart's piano concertos, this one most clearly shows him to be a pioneer of Romanticism.

First, it treats itself to a short stop in Kiev. There, a famous gate leads to another world: the old witch Baba Yaga flies around on her broom, the blind Princess Iolanta dreams of seeing, a group of merchants travels through the steppe and a happy wedding party dances a wild sabre dance.

9. The concert of his life
Thomas Mann was an insatiable record listener. When Süddeutsche Rundfunk interviewed him in 1954 for a broadcast of the series "Who wishes what?", he put together the program for his personal "request concert." To mark the 150th birthday of the world-famous writer from Lübeck, the Philharmonic Orchestra is giving a new performance of these favorite works by Thomas Mann - on the stage of the theater in his hometown.
