“Wasps? Twats.” Rianne is your typical 16-year-old girl, aside from an obsessive phobia of wasps, trying to survive the hellhole that is high school. As she struggles in bottom-set maths and getting the other grades she needs, some heartbreaking news sends Rianne’s life spiralling out of control in ways she could never have imagined. Wasps is a bitter-sweet coming-of-age monologue exploring grief, fear, and the life cycle of a wasp.

Donny lives with his mum and has been struggling with addiction most of his life. He also has a secret hobby… dancing alone in his bedroom. Determined to get help, Donny attends his local support group where he bonds with two other men, Jay and Craig, who change his life. But when a video of Donny dancing goes up online and makes him an accidental viral superstar, the men’s new friendship is put to the test with the whole world now watching on. Dancing Shoes is a life-affirming comedy-drama about isolation, support groups and bedroom dancing that challenges how we treat the most vulnerable people in society.

5. Sam Newbould Quintet
"A pearl in the jazz catch of the day ★★★★" (NRC, NL), the Sam Newbould Quintet is an award winning five piece international line-up emerging from the vibrant Amsterdam jazz scene. Described as “mindblowing, sometimes introverted and intimate and then exuberant again” (SWN Talent Award, NL), their music combines virtuosity with driving grooves and playful melodies that stick in your head. The quintet are selected showcase artists for Jazzahead 2025 and have performed on major stages including North Sea Jazz Festival, Love Supreme (UK) and the Vortex (UK). The band are touring Europe supporting the release of their third album ‘Homing’ (ZenneZ Records). The lineup features Sam Newbould (alto saxophone), Bernard van Rossum (tenor saxophone), Xavi Torres (piano), Jort Terwijn (bass) and Guy Salamon (drums).

Forced into an uneasy alliance with her pressure-cooker mother-in-law, Dani searches for Paul. But she can’t help but obsess over all the reasons why he might have vanished, as she relives the night before he disappeared over, and over, and over again. Night, Idiot is a darkly comedic, rip-roaring theatrical ride about one woman’s quest for impossible answers.

For one night only, to celebrate the release of their new single (title still under wraps at time of writing), A New International present a rare full-band set featuring back catalogue classics and a sneaky peek at new, never-before-seen songs from their soon-to-be-released fourth album inspired by espionage, epic voyages, tango and trombones.
