This eagerly anticipated event will showcase Ogden's exceptional talent as he performs two concertos: Vivaldi's hugely popular Mandolin Concerto and Malcolm Arnold's Guitar Concerto, a piece celebrated by many guitarists for its intricate and expressive qualities. Arnold's concerto is particularly notable for its second movement, "Blue Scherzo," a tribute to the legendary jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. The program also includes Haydn's Symphony No. 30 in C major, known as the "Alleluia Symphony" for its use of a Gregorian Alleluia chant in the opening movement.
