Pietro Spagnoli is since long time appreciated guest of many important theatres around the world, among them the Staatsoper Vienna, the Metropolitan Opera House  in New York, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Liceo in Barcelona, the Festival in Aix-en-provence, the Staatsoper Hamburg, Semperoper Dresden, Oper Zuerich, owing his status as internationally renowned performer to his interpretations of leading roles mostly in the repertory of Mozart, Rossini and Donizetti, like Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia (available on DVD), Figaro and Conte Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, the title role of Don Giovanni, Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte, Dandini and Don Magnifico in La cenerentola, Belcor and Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore, Sulpice in La fille du regiment, Malatesta in Don Pasquale, but in the last years also added successfully not only the title role of Verdi’s Falstaff, a row of further roles outside his former classic Belcanto repertory, such as Fra Melitone/La forza del destino in Las Palmas and at the Semperoper Dresden, Sharpless/Madame Butterfly at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, and in 2020, a moving Michonnet in Cilea’s Adriana Lecouvreur, again at the Teatro Petruzzelli Bari.
