### The Rake's Progress - Minnesota Orchestra

**Event Description:**
Join us for an exquisite production of Igor Stravinsky’s delightfully clever opera, *The Rake’s Progress*, presented by the Lakes Area Music Festival. Directed by Omer Ben Seadia and conducted by music director Christian Reif, this performance features an all-star cast that brings to life the story of Tom Rakewell. Tom deserts his rural country town and girlfriend Anne Trulove for the temptations of London, only to be seduced by greed and fame under the influence of his devilish companion, Nick Shadow. The opera follows Tom's moral, mental, and physical decline, culminating in a poignant moral: "For idle hearts and hands and minds the Devil finds work to do."
