With the operetta The Patch by Johann Strauss the Younger, you get a real Epiphany treat to enjoy. The fact that a large ensemble of young Swedish singers also participates only makes the experience even more exciting. This operetta also has everything - beautiful arias, languid waltzes, happy polkas and a completely wacky plot. Here, everyone tries to be someone other than they are, and everyone wants to come to Prince Orlofsky's party. The maid Adéle disguises herself as a fine lady, Dr. Falke becomes the Marquis Renard, Eisenstein, who should actually be in prison, is suddenly free, and his wife Rosalinda appears as a seductive Hungarian countess. The prison warden, who has also arrived, introduces himself as Chevalier Chagrin. Everything ends, as you can imagine, in complete chaos, and everyone ends up in the dumps. But it is wonderfully funny, and with music that lives on for a long time afterwards.
