Lea and Per have reached the point in their lives where their only child, daughter Cecilie, is moving away from home. So what will the new, increased freedom be used for? Antonio Salieri was once the great, admired, Italian court composer in Vienna. He had made a deal with God that Salieri would praise God through music, and that would be rewarded with divine inspiration. But then Salieri and the rest of Vienna and all of Europe meet Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. A young, silly, German fool. A vile and shrill-laughing new composer, who is called “Wolfi” by his fiancée. But he has one thing. He is a God-given genius composer, and no one can refuse him. His music enchants everything and everyone, and it makes Salieri’s compositions sound old-fashioned, stiff, boring – and worst of all: mediocre.

Lissi is an energetic real estate agent, and she is married to the calm banker Allan. Next to the couple lives the retired Bodil with her adult son Dennis. And then there is Kaya, who after the death of her father has temporarily moved into his abandoned house. Everything breathes peace and quiet on the villa road…
