Harpist

The world premiere of a Festival-commissioned work by composer Xinyang Wang, who draws equal inspiration from classical music and traditional Chinese arts, opens this program, which also features clarinetist Todd Levy in Academy Award–winning composer Bernard Herrmann’s quintet Souvenirs de Voyage, a cinematic journey through England, Ireland, and Italy.

Grace Browning (harp) and Benjamin Krug (cello)—a husband and wife team of Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra musicians—present a program of unique duo arrangements, including works by Tchaikovsky and Dvořák, as well as a premiere of Schubert’s beloved “Arpeggione Sonata” arranged for cello and harp. This interactive recital of multi-genre works provides new insights into this unique collaboration as well as the beautiful inner workings of partners in music and in life.
