Dostoevsky is often called the greatest of the great Russian writers, and with enduring classics such as Crime and Punishment, The Brothers Karamazov and The Idiot, Dostoevsky definitely belongs in the super league of world literature. Last season, Aarhus Theatre had The Idiot on the bill, and now you have the chance to experience two of his lesser-known, but no less virtuoso, well-composed psychological portrayals of people in existential crises: The Eternal Husband from 1870 and The Meek from 1876.

In Homer's great epic, Odysseus returns to his wife, Penelope, on the island of Ithaca after a victorious campaign in Troy. He does the same in this version. But now Penelope has found a lover in the meantime, with whom she not only has sex in the backseat of his car, but who also tells her adventurous stories about Odysseus' perilous journey.
