The Folk Opera House will be the arena for Antonio Vivaldi's baroque opera Olympiaden. Here, athletes and artistic souls compete side by side in a pulsating and sporty drama of confusion – under the influence of big politics, sensual confusion and heartbreaking trials of friendship . Olympiaden is directed by the all-round artist Charlotte Engelkes.

In Olympiad , forbidden love, mistaken identities, murder plots and missing siblings come together in a musical showdown filled with adrenaline and movement. The plot revolves around the prince of Crete, Licida" class="css-u850">Licida, a charming but untrained rookie in the arena of love and sport. In order to win the heart of Princess Aristea, he is faced with the match of his life. He asks his well-trained friend, Megacle, to compete in his place. Megacle accepts the sporting challenge, unaware that he is about to compete away his own fiancé. At the same time, Licida's neglected fiancée Argena appears and things heat up both in the competition arena and in her emotional life. But anything can happen and everything can turn around - it is only in the final that it is decided.
