"The Christmas Carol"A Christmas Carol" class="css-u850" data-mark-multiple="true">A Christmas Carol” is one of Charles Dickens’ most popular stories, and 200 years after Dickens’s birth, interest in his humorous yet serious tale of bitter Ebenezer Scrooge remains high. During the 1980s and 1990s, the performance was staged every Christmas in Stockholm, and was then brought back to life when Pernilla Isedal staged the classic story under new direction. Pernilla’s version of “A Christmas Carol” is a genuine musical theatre version with British actors and singers in the roles, as well as several child and youth actors. The performance, which has become an established Christmas tradition, proves year after year that the over 170-year-old tale is as relevant today as it was in the 19th century.
