We invite you to spend your January afternoon with cabaret songs! Viktoras Gerulaitis will present a concert at the Paliesius Manor, during which soprano Jūratė Rudžianskaitė and pianist Eglė Perkumaitė will masterfully perform cabaret songs by William Bolcom and Arnold Weinstein. Cabaret song is a fairly common genre of popular music in Western culture. Although jazz and poetry have long been heard in bars, it was not yet cabaret. In taverns and street theaters, plays were created with music from the lives of ordinary people, and the news of the day was sung. The music of cabaret songs revealed various human moods, experiences, feelings and emotions: love and hate, joy and pain, irony and sarcasm - everything that is intertwined with people's everyday experiences and events. Cabaret reflects the ideas of various eras, reveals the spirit and problems of today, and is therefore understandable and close to everyone.
