The sun beats down on the beach where three friends stand and gaze out over the vast, sparkling sea. In their small town there is only the factory and Café Neptun – but their dreams are all the bigger.

Somewhere out there in the winding sea, another world awaits – what if they could get there? With the help of imagination and a mad witch, they dream their way down to a magical underwater kingdom where mermaids and mermen live – and where the mighty sea king reigns. Beneath the surface lies a whole world of endless possibilities, but also great dangers lurking behind the knot. Luckily it's all just a dream. Or is it?

The Little Mermaid is a modern interpretation of the classic fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, newly written by the acclaimed German playwright Roland Schimmelpfennig. It will be a small-format family performance that will take you on a breathtaking adventure in the world of fantasy. The performance is a co-production between Teater Västernorrland and Estrad Norr and is recommended for ages 6 and up.
