**Event Overview:**
Embark on a fantastical journey through some of the most dramatic music of the 17th and 18th centuries with "Storms, Shipwrecks & Sorcery." This program evokes both literal storms and clouds of rage, featuring music from the Baroque period (1600-1750). 

**Program Highlights:**
- **Guest Soprano Nola Richardson:** A sought-after Baroque singer, Nola Richardson will stunningly portray two scorned sorceresses: the anguished Armida from Handel’s *Armida Abbandonata* and the vengeful Medee, namesake of Clerambault’s masterpiece.
- **Artistic Advisor and Curator Chloe Fedor:** Chloe Fedor will perform Vivaldi’s violin concerto *La Tempesta di Mare*, depicting a storm at sea.
- **Baroque Ensemble:** The concert features a small Baroque band including three violinists, viola, cello, string bass, harpsichord, and theorbo.

- This concert includes music from renowned Baroque composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, George Frideric Handel, and Johann Pachelbel.
- The program will feature several Cantatas, which can be compared to one-woman mini-operas, performed by Nola Richardson.

The ACO returns to the historic Harlem Parish, the stunning location of its fall ’20 filmed production of The Chaconne Project. Now we assemble the same performers to Revisit that experience in this lively program of Baroque repertoire with a focus on the chaconne—a musical genre that evolved from the bawdiness of 16th-century Spanish street dances to the refinement of Bach’s Chaconne for Solo Violin. In the splendid acoustics of Harlem Parish, we showcase ten vibrant chaconnes that use various combinations of strings, plucked instruments, harpsichord, voice and percussion. Acclaimed Mexican lyric soprano Guadalupe Peraza dazzles with her “mellow, conversational” mezzo (Opera News) and emotional delivery, complemented by dance and hand percussion.
