The Belgian formalist Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker — one of the world's most celebrated choreographers — ignites the Walker stage with her ecstatic collaboration featuring rising Moroccan-Belgian star Radouan Mriziga. Together they breathe new life into one of classical music’s most iconic works, Antonio Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons.” While Mriziga and De Keersmaeker draw from very different movement vocabularies, the two artists share a keen interest in geometry, nature and humankind’s increasingly troubled relationship with the natural world.

Opéra National De Lyon

Performed by the Opéra de Lyon Ballet dancers, this two-piece show was created by two of the most illustrious choreographers of our time: the American William Forsythe, presenting his iconic Workwithinwork, in which he subverts the codes of classical dance; and the Belgian Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, with the ardent duet La Nuit transfigure (Transfigured Night), set to Arnold Schoenberg’s late-Romantic score. Two masterpieces of contemporary dance history, requiring the precision and commitment for which the Lyon Opera Ballet’s performers are so highly regarded.
