Murder case in the mental hospital! Already the second nurse has been murdered. The perpetrator, one of three physicists, claims to be Einstein. Another thinks he is Newton. To the third, Möbius, King Solomon appears. It soon becomes clear that they are all playing at something here. Möbius has discovered the world formula. He pretends to be crazy in order to keep his discovery, with which mankind could destroy itself, a secret. The other two are secret agents for East and West on a mission to get him on their side. But the genius Möbius, caught in a moral dilemma, chooses isolation. One decides for all - and becomes the pawn of the power interests of a mad-doctor who has long been pulling the strings in the background.

For Adelina, born in Zurich, the daughter of Italian immigrants, there is no place in Switzerland. Inherited debts force her to abandon her apprenticeship. Single and with her young daughter Emma, she searches for a way out of the downward spiral. But the circumstances, a misogynistic and xenophobic society, prevent her from doing so. She finds herself in one awkward situation after another until a man who lovingly cares for her daughter takes her to Italy. However, Emma disappears without a trace, leading to a fateful encounter with the Red Brigades - and a realization.

In 117 scenes, Horváth describes how the couple's love is shattered by social conditions. In Karin Henkel's production, Kasimir and Karoline meet another tragic figure from Horváth's universe: Elisabeth from ‹Glaube Liebe Hoffnung› has given up on life before it could even begin. Her story is based on a real court case that Horváth wrote about together with court reporter Lukas Kristl.

Raised in affluence, Zurich native Fritz Angst feels cheated out of life and raised to death by the bourgeois coldness of his world. Shortly before losing his battle with cancer in 1976, he wrote a passionate tirade under the name Fritz Zorn: his illness was not a personal fate, but a reflection of social decay. The book became a scandalous point of reference for the angry Swiss youth of the 1980s.
