Join Skylark for the 3rd annual Sip of Opera on February 14th at Nautilus Music-Theater 308 E Prince St. in St Paul. In an intimate atmosphere, critically acclaimed mezzo-soprano Anna Laurenzo, making her Skylark debut, will celebrate the artistic voices of women through a delightful program of French art songs by female composers and poets. James Barnett will accompany on piano. Sommelier Erin Rolek, who charmed last year's Sip of Opera attendees, will again guide us through delectable wines carefully chosen to complement the music. Delicious desserts and snacks complete a special evening to tantalize all the senses.

The Christmas Rose will be presented in concert with soloists backed by a chorus and full orchestra. Skylark’s Artistic Director James Barnett conducts local vocalists Bergen Baker, Siena Forest, Brian Frutiger, Alex Ritchie and Jeremiah Sanders, who have appeared in the country’s most prominent opera houses. James Barnett says: “We’re so excited to bring a full orchestra back to Skylark Opera productions alongside our immensely accomplished singers, showcasing the wealth of talent that exists in the Twin Cities. Raise a glass with Skylark Opera at the 4th annual fun-raising OktOpera Fest, Thursday, October 9 at Fat Pants Brewing Co. Toast the 200th birthday of Johann Strauss, Jr. with an evening of effervescent music to enjoy with friends and family, all from the pen of the Waltz King himself. Soprano Julia Engel and tenor David Walton deliver the vocal fireworks. Pianists James Barnett and Mary Jo Gothmann accompany them and perform some virtuoso turns of their own.
