**Beethoven on the Beach 2024: A Symphony Under the Stars**

Orchestra Miami proudly presents its signature series, "Beethoven on the Beach," returning to enchant music lovers with a series of free outdoor concerts. This year, immerse yourself in the beauty of classical music against the backdrop of Miami's stunning beaches and lush gardens. The series kicks off on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the iconic Miami Beach Bandshell, followed by performances at Pinecrest Gardens and Gateway Park, Sunny Isles Beach.

**Event Highlights:**

- **Opening Night:** March 10, 2024, at 7 PM, Miami Beach Bandshell. Enjoy free parking after 6 PM and refreshments available for purchase. No outside food or drink permitted.
  
- **Second Performance:** March 15, 2024, at 8 PM, Pinecrest Gardens. Experience the concert with free on-site parking, stadium seating, and concessions. No outside food or drinks allowed.
  
- **Closing Night:** March 16, 2024, at 6 PM, Gateway Park, Sunny Isles Beach. Free parking available on-site. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair and a picnic. Chairs will be provided for the elderly or disabled.

**Special Features:**

This year's series shines a spotlight on Principal Cellist Aaron Merritt, performing the exhilarating Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1 in A Minor, Op. 33. The program also includes Mozart's dramatic Overture to Don Giovanni, Mendelssohn's joyous Italian Symphony No. 4 in A Major, and Beethoven's Overture to the ballet The Creatures of Prometheus Op. 43. Under the baton of Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi, the 42 musicians of Orchestra Miami are set to deliver unforgettable performances.

The concerts are free, with a suggested donation of $10 per person to support the orchestra's endeavors. For those who prefer guaranteed seating, reserve your spot at the Miami Beach Bandshell or Pinecrest Gardens for a $25 donation per person.

Composed as a vehicle for Jean Stapleton—who, despite being best known as Edith Bunker on All in the Family, was a classically trained singer- Bon Appetit! takes you into Julia Child’s kitchen as she prepares and serves a luscious French chocolate cake for her TV viewers.

Join Orchestra Miami for the final concert of the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Family Fun Concert Series! Your family will be treated to a performance of Poulenc's The Story of Babar the Elephant, a whimsical musical illustration of the beloved story by Jean de Brunhoff, with narration in English and Spanish. The chamber orchestra of Orchestra Miami will be led by Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi. The concert also includes other selections about animals which will teach about musical terminology & the instruments. The concert  lasts approximately 1 hour- juice & cookies served after!

Babar the Elephant

Orchestra Miami’s popular series of free outdoor concerts returns with “Unfinished”, featuring two uncompleted works by famous composers. The first is the little-known 10th Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, which was left unfinished at his death in 1827. At the time of his death, Beethoven left several sketches of two of the movements. Orchestra Miami will perform what exists of this symphony for the first time in South Florida, in a realization by musicologist Barry Cooper. This little-known piece by one of the world’s most famous composers will be paired with a very well-known unfinished work, Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony N. 8 in D Minor, D. 759. Also on the program is the Overture from an Unifinished Comic Opera by Camille Saint-Saëns. The 42 musicians of Orchestra will be led by Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi.

Beethoven on the Beach Unfinished

Orchestra Miami presents the Florida premiere of the oratorio The Road of Promise, adapted from Kurt Weill’s opera The Eternal Road by Ed Harsh. This version condenses Weill’s original 4- act opera into 14 movements lasting a little over two hours. The opera was conceived as a method of raising the American public’s awareness to Hitler’s persecution of the Jews in 1937. Set in a synagogue where Jews hide as a pogrom rages outside, the story combines Biblical & pre-World War II Jewish history.  The performances will be at Temple Emanu-el in Miami Beach, the oldest Conservative congregation on Miami Beach and considered to be one of the most beautiful synagogues in America.

The Road of Promise cast features stars from the Metropolitan Opera and a combined choir of over 100 voices. The cast is led by tenor Allan Glassman in the roles of the Rabbi/Narrator & baritone Mark Delavan in the roles of Abraham/ Moses/ Jeremiah, and soprano Elizabeth Caballero as Rachel. The performance will be conducted by Orchestra Miami's Artistic Director, Elaine Rinaldi, with stage direction by Vernon Hartman.

The Road of Promise

Orchestra Miami presents an operatic version of the classic fairy tale. The Three Little Pigs, set to music from Mozart’s operas with story adaption and dialogue by John Davies. Performed in a fully-staged production by four professional opera singers with music direction by Elaine Rinaldi and stage direction by Ron Headrick.
