At the height of his career, Swedish conductor Daniel Dareus collapses on stage during a concert. He decides to radically change his life and returns to his childhood village. But even there, music won't let him go: He takes over the direction of the church choir in an unconventional yet successful way, making himself unpopular with the community. Against all odds, the choir grows, and with it, the self-confidence of its members.
