For years, our summer concert at Kleinhans Music Hall has been a thank you to our Donors and Subscribers. This year, we’re excited to welcome everyone because the BPO loves Buffalo and wants to share the music with the whole community! Led by JoAnn Falletta, this concert features a lively program with pieces the BPO musicians love but rarely perform. Celebrate the music, summer, and the community that makes it all possible!

Costumes encouraged and curiosity required. Symphonic Spooktacular is a family-friendly way to celebrate the season with spooky music, big orchestral sounds, and a concert hall that feels welcoming and playful. With Grant O’Brien conducting, you will hear some of the spookiest music ever composed, pieces that swirl, sneak, and surprise, showing how composers can paint stories in sound. After the concert, kids get their moment on stage with the costume parade across Kleinhans’ stage. It is a joyful mix of music and participation, designed to help families make a memory and help kids feel that live orchestral music is something they belong in.

Symphonic Spooktacular

Make the holidays feel magical and manageable. Jingle Bell Jam combines festive music, holiday decorations, pre-concert activities, and a sing-along into an experience built for families. With Grant O’Brien conducting, the orchestra brings seasonal favorites to life in a way that is bright, interactive, and easy to love. Santa conducts the orchestra, adding an extra layer of wonder for kids and a lot of smiles for grown-ups. Whether you come at noon or 4pm, expect music that invites participation and moments designed for wide eyes and big grins. It is not just a concert; it is a shared holiday memory made in real time.

Jingle Bell Jam

Three iconic songwriters, decades of hits, and one night built around the music that shaped generations. Under Ron Spigelman, the BPO explores the catalogs of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Elton John, and Sir Paul McCartney, where Broadway storytelling meets pop brilliance. With Broadway vocalists to be announced, expect big choruses, unforgettable melodies, and the thrill of hearing songs you already love expanded by the full sound of the orchestra. The evening is designed for shared nostalgia and shared delight, a concert that feels both celebratory and surprisingly moving. Come with friends and let the music do what it does best, bring everyone together fast.

Music of the Knights

Cape or no cape, this concert is your chance to step into story. With Grant O’Brien conducting, Heroes and Villains brings music to life that instantly conjures characters, superheroes, arch nemeses, wizards, princesses, and more. Kids are invited to come in costume and reveal their alter egos while the orchestra creates bold themes, sneaky motifs, dramatic showdowns, and triumphant returns. From Batman and Darth Vader to magical realms and fairy tale energy, this program is built for imagination and recognition. It is playful, dramatic, and designed to make the concert hall feel like the best kind of adventure you can share as a family.
