Imagine a concert bringing together an orchestra, three choirs, five conductors: such is the feat achieved by this scenic cantata by Maurice Ohana, Autodafé , a deeply committed piece in the choral repertoire. 

Maurice Ohana's Autodafé ventures off the beaten path, bringing together dozens of professional and amateur performers who sing of freedom. The work follows pivotal episodes in international history, centered on the relentless struggle against tyranny: the French Revolution, the First World War, the Albigensian Crusade, and the Spanish Civil War. The ensemble Musicatreize, experts in the composer's works, presents this hallucinatory music more than fifty years after its creation. Alongside them, the Dijon Bourgogne Orchestra, the Opera Chorus, and an adult amateur choir complete the performance of this work, a blend of realistic drama and biting irony.
