Well-known to audiences at the Opéra Underground, singer and percussionist Rebecca Roger Cruz unfolds a unique soundscape at the confluence of ancient, traditional, and improvised music. (Afro)Venezuelan percussion, Latin American popular song, Baroque, operatic, jazz, rock, and flamenco repertoire—all these influences contribute to her singular style. With her metamorphic voice and accompanied by four musicians, Rebecca Roger Cruz experiments with the sources and textures of sound, delicately orchestrating a percussive ceremony from which the forces of nature emerge.
