In 1970, Victoria Chaplin met actor and director Jean-Baptiste Thierrée: together, they dreamed of a different kind of circus and stunned the Avignon Festival with their Cirque Bonjour. Over time, together with their two children, Aurélia and James, the duo revolutionized and radically transformed the circus arts, infusing it with the performing arts and with a profound ability to blend enchantment and poetry. With Rendez-vous , Thierrée-Chaplins open their album and revisit fragments of past shows: an intimate history of circus, theater, and music hall, but above all, a family story, with a poignant remembrance of the great Charlie Chaplin, fifty years after his death.
