On the program are rare treasures: the Symphony No. 1 in D minor by María Luisa de Borbón, a forgotten princess and composer, opens the evening with pre-Romantic fervor. Then comes a contemporary work: A Violin's Tale by Polish composer Paweł Szymański. Dedicated to Dorota, who premiered it in Warsaw in November 2025, this concerto, with its pointillist and serial accents, engages with tradition while simultaneously challenging it. Spanish vigor emerges with the Aragonaise and Navarraise from Massenet's Le Cid , before Ravel bestows his melancholic grace in Le Tombeau de Couperin . Turina concludes with a flourish with the Danzas fantásticas. From the Spanish court to modernism, from ballet to dance: an evening that places the violin in the role of narrator, and an artist in the spotlight.
