Under the direction of Lamar Elias, this program wittily explores the reinvention of ancient forms. Between homage and transformation, Heitor Villa-Lobos and Jacques Ibert evoke the classical heritage, while Léo Delibes elegantly revives its dances. Igor Stravinsky playfully subverts its conventions, and Salvador Arnita extends this momentum in a rhythmic style rooted in dance. A free-flowing journey between memory and invention.

Everyone here looks to the past. First and foremost to Mozart, to whom Villa-Lobos and Jacques Ibert each pay homage in their own way: the former with the generosity and color of his writing, the latter with the clarity and elegance of the French school. Stravinsky and Delibes, for their part, revisit ancient forms and dances: with playfulness and modernity for the former, with the refinement of a theater man enamored of bygone styles for the latter.
