Drummer

A theatrical show by Antonio Scurati that spans history and the present, giving voice to women and men who, in different eras, fought to conquer and defend democracy and civil rights in Europe, heroines and heroes of stubborn democratic loyalty.

Through powerful monologues and choral scenes, the stage becomes a place of memory and conflict, where individual courage clashes with the violence of power. Antonio Scurati offers us an epic civil fresco, in which democracy becomes an embodied experience, fragile and concrete, preserved by exposed bodies. An urgent civil tale that questions the present and calls for the collective responsibility to never take freedom for granted. A tale of the epic and freedom of women and men, of their vision and their hope.
