Play and Sing for a Day is a creative outlet for musicians of all levels and ages in our community. Through small and large group rehearsals, people will get a chance to interact, connect, and experience a day of making  music together with Reno Phil musicians and chorus conducted by Laura Jackson.

In another LSO tradition, our annual musical salute to our veterans once again brings together the favorite with the unfamiliar. Violinist Elissa Lee Koljonen -- who amazed us back in 2021 with her reading of the romantic Violin Concerto of Samuel Barber -- returns to La Crosse with a rarity: the Violin Sonata of Aaron Copland -- "The Dean of American Composers" -- in a stunning new orchestral version. And after intermission, in a moment we've long been preparing for, one of the mightiest symphonies of all time: Beethoven's revolutionary "Eroica", with its thrilling call to freedom.

Each year, the Des Moines Symphony welcomes more than 100,000 Central Iowans to celebrate Independence Day at Yankee Doodle Pops, the largest single-day concert event in Iowa. This July, Music Director & Conductor Joseph Giunta and the musicians of the Des Moines Symphony are pleased to bring The Des Moines Symphony’s 31st Annual Yankee Doodle Pops to everyone in the state through a broadcast in partnership with Iowa PBS and Iowa Public Radio. As always, the Des Moines Symphony will perform time-honored patriotic favorites, including the 1812 Overture and Stars & Stripes Forever.

Celebrate Independence Day in grand style with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra! Weaving together contemporary and classical gems, audiences can expect all their favorites such as 1812 Overture, Stars and Stripes Forever, and the Armed Forces Salute, paired with performances by the TIED WINNERS of our 2025 Young Artist Concerto Competition, 17-year-old Indre Raghavan showcasing her skill on violin with the first movement of the Violin Concerto in D minor by Jean Sibelius, and 15-year-old André Previn Peck impressively performing the first movement of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in F minor.

Summer wouldn’t have the same sizzle without a patriotic concert by your Space Coast Symphony Wind Orchestra. This FREE red, white and blue concert will honor all those who have worn our nation’s uniform. This all-American program will showcase our national heritage, as conductor Aaron T. Collins directs the wind orchestra with music by Mark Piszczek, Eric Whitacre, Lee Greenwood, and marches from “The March King,” John Philip Sousa.  The concert features Eric Whitacre’s thrilling Ghost Train.  In this highly programmatic work, Eric transforms a story from American folklore of a supernatural locomotive that roars throughout the Western U.S. Rich in special effects and unique compositional techniques, this dynamic piece creates vivid aural images as the train leaves the station and passes through a varied landscape. The concert will also feature the World Premiere of Mark Piszczek’s American Frontier Suite, a new version for wind band which features songs from the Old West and American frontier, including “Bury Me Not on The Lone Prairie,” “Tumbling Tumbleweeds,” “Yellow Rose of Texas,” “Red River Valley” and others.

A Memo from the Maestro: Come join us as we celebrate the centenary of the first performance of a true American classic, a piano concerto that changed the world:  George Gershwin's amazing RHAPSODY IN BLUE!  Michelle Cann will bring her brilliance and charm on a welcome return visit to La Crosse, in which she'll also perform the La Crosse premiere of the Piano Concerto of the unjustly-neglected composer Florence Price, a central figure in the Black Chicago Renaissance of the 1930s and 40s.  Composed within a decade of each other, these two one-movement masterpieces make a perfect American pair.  And to end the evening -- and back by popular demand -- our Maestro presents yet another beautiful Aaron Copland Symphony No. 3.  culminating in Copland's magnificent full-orchestra rendering of his immortal "Fanfare for the Common Man" -- an evening not to be missed!

The South Bend Symphony Orchestra celebrates our country’s independence with the Shein Trust Community Series “Salute to Freedom” concert on Wednesday, July 3, at 7:30 p.m., at the Morris Performing Arts Center. For one night only, audiences of all ages will experience an evening filled with the U.S. Armed Forces Salute, Copland’s Lincoln Portrait, Gershwin’s An American in Paris, and Florence Price’s Symphony No. 1.  From the moment you step into the red, white and blue lit Tulsa PAC, you will enjoy special themed drinks, selfie stations, and lobby performers courtesy of the local favorite women’s a cappella group the Tulsa Metro Sound. Arrive early and join the conductor’s talk in the Westby Pavilion beginning at 6:30pm. After the concert, join us for the After Party across the street at The Brook with more special drink selections making for an unforgettable evening out.

The evening promises to be a spectacular celebration of music from the silver screen, featuring an array of compositions that have left an indelible mark on Hollywood's storied history. The concert will open with Bob Lowden's stirring "Armed Forces Salute," followed by Erich Wolfgang Korngold's adventurous "Overture to The Adventures of Robin Hood." The program will also highlight Igor Stravinsky's "Violin Concerto" with Alexi Kenney on violin, culminating in Sergei Rachmaninoff's emotive "Symphony No. 3, Op. 44, in A Minor."

Enhance your experience with pre-concert festivities starting at 6:30 pm in the FSPA lobby of the Viterbo Fine Arts setting, where you can enjoy live music and relax in cabaret seating. This concert will dive into the different eras of cinematic thrills, from the suspense of Jaws to the triumph of Rocky and the drama of Casablanca.
