Lammerica is a performance inspired by the private diaries of Chiara Calda and Teresa Luongo, two twentieth-century women who lived through the period of Italian migration. The production, the fruit of research and artistic experimentation, recounts the intense journeys of two ordinary women, one to America, the other to Italy, through a unique scenic and sound elaboration of the pages of the two autographed texts. The diaries chosen for the production are drawn from the selection of texts compiled for the "Italians Abroad" project of the National Diary Archive of Pieve Santo Stefano, realized with the support of the General Directorate for Italians Abroad and Migration Policies of the Ministry.
