Lecture: Markus Svensson - Similarities and Differences in Swedish Folk Music

Hantverkshuset i Burgsvik

A warm welcome to a cozy folk-song session (visstuga) at Östergarns Bygdegård! On an afternoon in December, a visstuga in traditional folk singing is offered together with Julia Westberg. Julia shares her best tips for making your voice ring out in a truly folk style, and we will learn a selection of songs on the theme: Staffan's songs (Staffansvisor), Christmas songs, and also a medieval ballad. The evening continues with a game and dance evening, and coffee and snacks are available for purchase. The workshop is free of charge, and you register through Nortic. No prior experience is required to participate.
