Internationally acclaimed award-winning jazz vocalist/songwriter Jo Harrop returns to Leeds following her recent UK tour as special guest with Gregory Porter. Known for her intimate, smoky tone, Jo is said to be able to ‘melt even the chilliest of hearts’. Throughout her career she has performed at prestigious venues around the world and has received praise from the likes of Iggy Pop and Jamie Cullum.

The Path Of A Tear, Harrop’s superb fourth album on Lateralize Records to be released in June 2024, suggests an artist determined to keep moving forward as she dives into unchartered musical waters.

Born in Durham in Northeast England, Harrop was raised on a steady diet of Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, and credits a Newcastle performance by Tony Bennett she attended as a teen for planting the seed to be a performer. “I was so moved and so inspired, I realized that I needed to sing. I wanted to be able to touch people with my music in the same way.”
