Odeon's style can best be described as New Orleans and Latin American chamber music, with its inspiration drawn from New Orleans revival jazz of the 1940s and 1950s, represented by musicians such as George Lewis and Bunk Johnson. The quintet's repertoire reflects a wide range of melodies: ballads, standards, hymns and, not least, choros and creole waltzes from Panama, Venezuela and Brazil, among others, by composers such as Ernesto Nazaret, Lionel Belasco, Luiz Americano and Ernesto Lecuona.

Stortorgets Gjæstgiveri

The small big band Christiania 12 has done the same thing since it was founded in 1992: playing good music. Since the start, some of the kingdom's very best musicians in the trad, swing and mainstream traditions have made up the collective Christiania 12, a dazzling big band of the kind that was common in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

CHRISTIANIA12

Herr Nilsen

The orchestra plays music with roots in the New Orleans jazz of the 1920s and 1930s. Well-known bandleaders such as Louis Armstrong, Luis Russell, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Fletcher Henderson are represented in the band's repertoire list.
