Bassist

Known for his distinctive slide guitar playing and greasy style, deeply inspired by the music, rhythms and culture of New Orleans, Arne Skage has been one of Norway's most distinctive blues guitarists for over 30 years. After a long career as a guitarist and songwriter for Reidar Larsen and a collaborator with names such as Eriksen and Jørn Hoel, he has in recent years emerged as a solo artist and producer (Joe Rusi, Daniel Eriksen; Myrull, etc.). With two critically acclaimed solo albums – Procrastination Blues (2021) and Rootwork (2024) – and an EP (3 Kicks Against the Pricks) to his name, Skage has established himself as an artist with a clear signature, solid songwriting and a unique sound that connects Louisiana funk, swamp blues, gate funk and zydeco, drawn from 10 years of music production in New Orleans – but with Norwegian roots and personal grit.
