Join the Snowbelt Symphony Orchestra for this musical tribute to our veterans. The concert will feature patriotic gems like "Stars and Stripes Forever" and "God Bless America," familiar music by George Gershwin and Aaron Copland, Broadway favorites, and lots more quintessential American music. The highlight of the concert will be the playing of the anthems of the branches of the armed forces to honor those that have made significant sacrifices to defend our country's freedoms and liberties.

The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.

The Music Man is a musical with book, music, and lyrics by Meredith Willson, based on a story by Willson and Franklin Lacey. The plot concerns con man Harold Hill, who poses as a boys’ band organizer and leader and sells band instruments and uniforms to naive Midwestern townsfolk, promising to train the members of the new band. Harold is no musician, however, and plans to skip town without giving any music lessons.

Isabel Valasek is a soprano based in Pittsburgh, PA. She is studying under Sari Gruber at Carnegie Mellon University, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Vocal Performance, a certification in Music Education and a minor in Drama. This year in Carnegie Mellon Opera, Isabel performed as Lucy in “The Telephone” by Menotti and will also be in scenes such as singing Adele in “Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss II, Lucy in "The Three Penny Opera" by Kurt Weill and Idamante in “Idomeneo” by Mozart. She was previously a soloist in Carnegie Mellon University’s fully staged production of “Considering Matthew Shepard” by Craig Hella Johnson and was a cover for Despina in Mozart’s “Così fan tutte”.

As a solo artist, Sutton Foster has toured the country, delighting audiences with songs from her albums, including "Wish," "An Evening with Sutton Foster: Live at the Cafe Carlyle," and "Take Me to the World." Her memoir, "Hooked: How Crafting Saved My Life," reveals intimate stories and reflections on how crafting has been a solace throughout her career.

Ticket prices for this Mahaiwe Member & Youth Discount Event range from $59 for Limited Upper Balcony seats to $129 for Premium seating. Members receive a $5 discount on each ticket, and special pricing is available for individuals ages 30 and under.
